Tinnitus Assessment at The Tinnitus Clinic

Tinnitus Assessment

No two people’s experience of tinnitus is the same. That’s why, at The Tinnitus Clinic, our Initial Assessment and consultation focuses on you, your tinnitus, the impact tinnitus has on your quality of life and how we can alleviate your symptoms.

What happens during an assessment appointment?

At your Initial Assessment, one of our expert audiologists will review your relevant medical history and perform a range of diagnostic tests to assess your tinnitus and audiological profile. These tests are designed to diagnose your tinnitus type, pinpoint your tinnitus tone and identify any associated hearing loss that may be exacerbating the impact of your condition.

Your audiologist will discuss the treatment options available to you and the likely prognosis following treatment. There will also be plenty of time for you to ask questions and explore self-help techniques.

Whether you’ve recently developed tinnitus, or have a longstanding diagnosis, our audiologist will be able to provide you with treatment options and provide you with expert advice based on the latest developments in tinnitus and neuroscientific research.

We will always discuss all available treatment options with you providing you with as much choice as your clinical profile allows.

Our service is always objective, straightforward and transparent.

The initial assessment can take place in any of our clinics and costs just £200. This includes the diagnostic tests as listed here. Appointments are usually available within two weeks.

Here's how one client described their initial assessment experience with us

“Really helpful, thorough and patient. Explained everything fully and gave helpful advice. We left the consultation feeling like we had a much better understanding of tinnitus and what can be done to relieve or minimise its impact. The advice and resources I was given are actually making a real and tangible difference to my tinnitus’ ”

Mr Millar had this to say about his experience

“It was the best and most encouraging consultation I have had since the onset of my tinnitus. The condition and more importantly for me, the long term prognosis, was explained clearly and authoritatively which was very encouraging. Not an overnight fix, but some hope for a normal life in the future. I have decided to proceed with Mark's recommendation.”
