TUNE IN
A NEWSLETTER FROM THE TINNITUS CLINIC

Dear Reader,

Patients seeking help from The Tinnitus Clinic often tell us that they have found it difficult to get the right help for their condition elsewhere. Daniel Walsh from Southport was one of these unfortunate patients who was told by his GP, and a private specialist, that there was nothing that could be done to help him.

This problem has concerned us for some time and in our last issue of Tune In, we invited you to participate in a survey to see if Daniel's experience is common for tinnitus sufferers nationwide. The results of the survey have shown that we still have considerable work to do to raise awareness of tinnitus among healthcare professionals, which is why we've teamed up with award-winning GP, Dr. Gabriel Hendow, to help us promote our GP guide.

Many of us know someone with hearing loss whose enjoyment of life is reduced because of not being able to hear everyday sounds. Our new Hearing Loss service is for people just like them who have hearing loss but no tinnitus. To book a hearing assessment and qualify for a 15% discount on the RRP on a range of digital hearing aids, call 0203 326 1777 and quote ‘Tune In Hearing’.

Best wishes

John’s basic NHS hearing aids caused him serious discomfort

John developed hearing loss whilst receiving a platinum based chemotherapy agent to treat testicular cancer. His NHS hearing aids were distorting his perception of high pitched sounds and causing discomfort when he was exposed to certain moderate or loud noises. He had become completely deaf to sounds above a certain frequency in both ears.

Choosing hearing aids with the best technology enabled us to make the most of his residual hearing.
