The study reveals a considerable regional variation in tinnitus service provision across the UK, and has prompted The Tinnitus Clinic’s Chief Audiologist Mark Williams to urge those living with tinnitus to seek support. We also hear from Dr Peter Draggett and the success he has had with Tinnitus Desensitisation Therapy™ (TDT), after being told by his GP that “there was no treatment available” for him. Another patient case study reveals how the Levo Therapy System, significantly reduced David’s tinnitus, after a firecracker exploded close to his ear, triggering tinnitus that got progressively worse over time. It concludes that many people find it difficult to access the national tinnitus service. Moreover, those discharged from secondary care return to their GP within a short space of time and are re-referred to secondary care creating an unsatisfactory and expensive revolving-door pattern of healthcare.
