66 Patient Tinnitus Study reinforces Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation success

Our Principal Scientific Audiologist, Mark Williams, recently gave a presentation on Acoustic CR Neuromodulation at the 2014 International Tinnitus Seminar. Held this year from 21st to 24th of May in Berlin, Germany, the conference is a leading scientific and clinical event in the field of tinnitus, and features lectures and workshops about the latest research and clinical practice.

Mark’s presentation was entitled Acoustic CR Neuromodulation therapy for subjective tonal tinnitus: clinical outcomes in an independent audiology practice setting, and covered his team’s experience of treating 66 patients with Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation therapy at The Tinnitus Clinic. All these patients used the Neurostimulator – a matchbox sized acoustic generator which delivers tones to target the individual’s tinnitus – worn at home or at work for 4-6 hours a day. Tested at twelve weeks into the treatment and again at twenty-four weeks, this sample group showed a clinically significant decrease in the reported loudness and annoyance levels of their tinnitus.

In the last three years, the work of Mark and our other specialist audiologists, has resulted in a significant improvement in quality of life for many of our UK and overseas patients. You can read some of their stories in the case studies section.
