Our other clinics around the country are open, so please contact us to find out when the earliest appointment at your preferred clinic will be.
During appointments, our clinicians and audiologists are working in a safe manner to reduce infection and help you recover from your tinnitus. We clean surfaces between patient appointments in line with Government guidance and that issued by the British Society of Audiology.
We will require you to answer a few questions before you come into clinic to minimise the risk of spreading COVID-19 infection.
Remember, if you're unable to attend a clinic we run a full telecare service with remote assessments and fittings using video through our e‑consult service.
Sleeping can be difficult as the noise of the tinnitus disturbs the usual peace of the night. Concentrating at work seems impossible as the tinnitus sounds distract your focus and prevent you from being productive. The worry of what might be happening can spoil time with friends and family as you fret about the future and whether you will ever enjoy peace and quiet again.
There is no shortage of information on the internet, in magazines or books, and friends and family offer their thoughts and ideas too on how to help you cope with this life changing noise in your head. At The Tinnitus Clinic, we have treated hundreds of severely affected people who with our help, have a much better quality of life.
Taking action in the acute, first four months of your tinnitus, can reduce the emotional and psychological hold which the tinnitus has on you.
We will assess your tinnitus, designing a bespoke therapy with the tools you need to reduce the impact of those first tinnitus symptoms.
These tools may include therapy sound machines and sound applications for your phone or tablet to reduce your focus on tinnitus, help you relax and improve your ability to concentrate, psychodynamic counselling, and The Tinnitus Clinic’s own specially designed relaxation exercises. In our Acute Tinnitus Therapy we also provide you with customised Siemens in-ear protection for greater comfort when you are exposed to louder noise than usual.
In the early months, tinnitus can change quite dramatically, becoming higher or lower, louder or softer, changing its nature from whistling sounds to hissing or buzzing.
These changes might concern and worry you but our Acute Tinnitus Therapy, is there to reassure you and provide you with a sense of control during those first crucial months.
The Tinnitus Clinic is here for you, and our expertise in working with you and your lifestyle, will provide a totally bespoke therapy which will enable you to worry less and live more.
