Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation paper published

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation continues to gain traction in scientific circles, with the publication of a paper by Professor Peter Tass in Biological Cybernetics. Professor Tass is the inventor of Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation, and his paper, ‘Unlearning tinnitus-related cerebral synchronicity with acoustic coordinated reset stimulation’ is now available online.

Mark Williams, The Tinnitus Clinic’s Principal Audiologist, writes:

“This landmark academic paper by Professor Peter Tass from the Julich Research Centre reviews the extensive theoretical modelling work that has contributed to producing the Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation treatment method for tinnitus.

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation works to sustainably reduce tinnitus loudness by reducing the over activity (or neural synchrony) of auditory nerve cell bundles within the hearing portion of the brain.   CR stimulation was initially developed in order to reduce neural synchrony in neurological disorders, like Parkinsons disease, via deep brain electrode stimulation.

This publication explains how this treatment method has been adapted for the non-invasive treatment of tinnitus and explains how the highly organised structure of the auditory system is key in enabling treatment delivery.”
