Our other clinics around the country are open, so please contact us to find out when the earliest appointment at your preferred clinic will be.
During appointments, our clinicians use appropriate sanitising equipment and PPE (personal protective equipment) which is also available to patients. We also clean surfaces between patient appointments in line with Government guidance and that issued by the British Society of Audiology.
We will require you to answer a few questions before you come into clinic to minimise the risk of spreading COVID-19 infection.
Remember, if you're unable to attend a clinic we run a full telecare service with remote assessments and fittings using video through our e‑consult service.
Two pioneering tinnitus treatments have been introduced for the first time at a hearing clinic in Warrington, offering new hope to thousands of sufferers.
It is estimated just over 16,000 adults in Warrington suffer from tinnitus – the sensation of hearing a ringing, whizzing, roaring, buzzing, hissing or other type of continuous sound which has no external source.
Warrington Hearing Services Ltd is now licensed by the UK’s leading provider of tinnitus treatments – The Tinnitus Clinic – to provide both Tinnitus Desensitisation Therapy™ (TDT) and Levo Therapy™.
TDT is a new therapeutic pathway specially designed for patients who suffer with invasive tinnitus. TDT provides a bespoke range of therapies selected to meet an individual’s tinnitus acoustic profile and experience of tinnitus. Therapeutic techniques are used to control tinnitus awareness with the long-term goal of encouraging the brain to filter out the tinnitus perception from consciousness.
The Levo® System for tinnitus therapy uses iPod technology to deliver a personalised tinnitus sound straight to the brain while the patient sleeps. The brain learns to ignore the hissing or buzzing associated with this debilitating and often stressful condition and over time, the patient notices the tinnitus less during the day.
Owner and lead audiologist at Warrington Hearing Services, Stuart Wilkinson, has been a fully qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist since 2006 and has worked in the industry since 1999 – in both manufacturing and customer facing roles.
Stuart said: “We are an independent audiological practice devoted to giving the very best hearing care to our local community.
“Bringing The Tinnitus Clinic to this area will enable thousands of sufferers to have improved access to life changing treatment.
“Tinnitus affects 30 per cent of people at some point in their lives. For some, it’s a persistent problem and can have a significant impact on everyday activities, with severe cases causing distress, insomnia, and depression.
“It’s a common myth that people just ‘have to live with tinnitus’. This simply isn’t true, there are treatments that can help, and I’d urge anyone suffering to get in touch.”
Warrington Hearing Services Ltd was founded in 2012 by Stuart. An independent, family run audiological practice, it specialises in hearing systems, ear wax removal, tinnitus management, and noise management.
Stuart continued: “We’re very proud of our family business and our goals align with those of The Tinnitus Clinic – to offer the latest advances in hearing technology while providing customers with a level of personal attention and service which will not be bettered elsewhere.”
“We’re really excited about this next step for our business – helping people take control of the impact that tinnitus has on their life.”
