If you experience ringing in your ears or muffled hearing after attending a loud sporting event, it may be only temporary and disappear after a couple of days. However, if it continues, you may wish to talk to your GP about the treatment options available to you or contact The Tinnitus Clinic to book an initial assessment.

Tinnitus Desensitisation Therapy™ (TDT) is a new habituation based treatment for tonal and pulsatile tinnitus. Our expert audiologists supply TDT patients with customised devices, designed to sharpen their hearing, dampen their tinnitus, and reduce the stress and anxiety. Through TDT, patients gain control of their tinnitus awareness and, with time, habituate to their tinnitus so that the noise becomes less invasive.

Here at The Tinnitus Clinic, we regularly receive enquiries about our evidence-based tinnitus treatments from across the UK. We understand that not everyone who is interested in these treatments is able to travel to our Harley Street, Altrincham or Birmingham clinics. Therefore, in response to demand, we have now opened new consulting rooms in Edinburgh and Cheltenham.
One of The Tinnitus Clinic’s first patients, Peter Humphries, was interviewed by well-known DJ, Tony Blackburn, on BBC Radio Berkshire earlier this month.
Tony Blackburn mentioned during the interview that he experiences tinnitus, which he described as a “whoosing sound… like being beside the seaside”. He feels that it may be related to the fact that he has “for the last fifty years being playing very, very loud music”.
