Krysta Callander is a PhD student in the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, Australia and is investigating the impact of sound sensitivity on a global scale. She has created an online survey for people who experience this condition to help to identify the similarities and differences between hearing symptoms. This in turn will raise awareness of these auditory conditions and aid the diagnostic process. Information relating to Krysta's survey is shown below.

In 2014, Nottingham University Hospitals Trust (NUH) took the difficult decision not to publish the results of the long awaited double blind clinical trial into the efficacy of Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation which was run at Nottingham Hearing Biomedical Research Unit, a partner of NUH.

We are pleased to announce a new partnership with the London Road Hearing Centre, which will bring The Tinnitus Clinic’s range of evidence-based treatments to people living with tinnitus in Leicester and the surrounding areas.

Here at The Tinnitus Clinic, we regularly receive enquiries about our evidence-based tinnitus treatments from across the UK. We understand that not everyone who is interested in these treatments is able to travel to our Harley Street, Altrincham or Birmingham clinics. Therefore, in response to demand, we have now opened new consulting rooms in Edinburgh and Cheltenham.

The opening of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil last week had us thinking back to the same event in South Africa in 2010, and more specifically to the sound of all those vuvuzela horns at the event.

In response to the interest in our evidence-based tinnitus treatments from people in Devon and Cornwall, we have now opened new consulting rooms in Plymouth. 

Last week, our Principal Scientific Audiologist, Mark Williams presented a clinical workshop at the British Society of Audiology’s annual conference. The British Society of Audiology (BSA) is a professional body with members from all areas of audiology, which aims to increase knowledge of hearing and balance issues and to enhance audiological practice.

The study has revealed a significant and sustainable reduction in tinnitus symptoms - for 71% of patients within six months – using the non-invasive tinnitus treatment, Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation.
